About colourants
Approved food colours for tablets, coatings, capsules, drinks and confectionery: caramel colours (E 150a–d), beta-carotene in pure, water-dispersible and cold-water-soluble forms (E 160a), and aluminium lakes.
Each product page shows the E number; the specification gives the colour strength and carrier. Water-dispersible grades suit drinks and liquids, lakes suit coatings and dry blends. Approved business buyers download the specification and safety data sheet online; a certificate of analysis comes with every lot.
